All wooden packing material must be heat treated at the core of each piece of wood to 56 deg Celsius or 140 deg Fahrenheit for a minimum of 30 minutes to stop the infection of exotic wood pests from other countries.

We are certified by the MFPA, one of 11  US agencies to affix the "bug stamp"  on our products.  Our IPPC approved no. is US-0037 (HT MFPA)

Alternative non-wood packing materials, boxes and crates are also available that are fully compliant with the new international APHIS standards. These can also be "Certified as being in compliance with IPPC regulations"

APHIS heat treatment of wooden packing materials in accordance with the new international regulations.

We are familiar with the new international APHIS standards requiring heat treating of crates and wooden packing materials as an international effort to control wood pests and insects.  Over the  next few  years many of the world's trading countries will require compliance with APHIS. We can provide heat treatment of crates and packing materials and provide certifications of heat treatment and USDA certification as part of our service to our customers. Certain countries, notably Australia and the People's Republic of China have very strict regulations.  We inventory heat treated pallets and platforms and compliant HT/KD wood.

We can also supply composite crates, pallets and packaging materials made out of NON-wood products for smaller to medium size export crates. This allows us to not have to lose several days getting full USDA certification in order to be APHIS compliant. In some situations, using "non-wood" packaging materials actually results in lighter crates that could significantly lower airfreight cost.
